My fringe had a festival Right on the edge of my head It went on for ages Long after I'd gone to bed It invited the ears to provide all the sounds First aid and messages supplied by the mouth The site for the festival was care of the eyes Who looked after backdrops and water supplies The cheeks were embarrassed to be seen with the nose Who was running around saying take of your clothes! The stubble got razored as glasses were raised Beard off the face it all got a bit crazed The eyebrows were headlining on the main stage When the local constabulary turned up in force and said 'It's illegal to party these days' and told all the revelers time to move on The mouth and the eyes and the ears and the fringe and the cheeks and the eyebrows they didn't give in saying 'Look, one to one, face to face you must know that we live here, where else do you think we can go?' But the local constabulary had sealed off their minds Blocked up their ears and blinkered their eyes. Their festival ended But that's just the fringe Holding a small one when the big ones begin the heart, brain, lungs, vocal cords, arms, legs and face. Will be out there as people all over the place!
